SoaP

So, that was the best over-the-top horrible movie I ever saw. And it does, in fact look to be the next rocky horror. heh.

I seriously thought the lawyers would keep this from happening

But there’s a trailer up for Underworld: Evolution

Because what with Goblet of Fire, Narnia, Rome, and BSG, I don’t have enough things to drool over.

Every now and then…

I find some really fun music…. like Frou Frou covering Bonnie Tyler. (Yes, I do live under a rock sometimes.) But it’s fun to see my childhood made all new and shiny.

And speaking of all new and shiny… I was in *tears* watching the Narnia trailer. ‘Cause hey, I’ve only been waiting for this since I was seven.

Went to see Troy

Yes, in spite of alreday reading Troy in 15 minutes. Or maybe because of it. Because I was depressed, and wanted to look at teh pretty. And there was quite enough of it to go ’round. I can ignore the plot through a blender treatment because hello? It’s a hollywood movie. When I get a hankering for a faithful adaption of anything I’ll go to PBS or A&E. Or maybe the history channel. But hollywood gives good pretty.

I’m adding Sean Bean to my list of sexy guys with really sexy voices.

Yes, I wish they hadn’t chickened out re: the great gay love that is Achillies and Patroclus, but really, was not expecting anything different. I don’t care how sexy and sensitive they re-wrote him to be, (I amy not be a huge Brad Pitt fan, but there was some serious sexy going on there.) he’ll always be my favorite psycho bisexual godspawn.

The women… aren’t actually *there* much, so not much to say, other than that they too, were much the pretty.

I *wanted* to see Hellboy

But it was decided by the group that Dawn of the Dead was a better choice. It didn’t suck, and personally, I don’t think it deserves the pounding it’s getting by fans and critics. However, it was the single most disturbing and scary things I’ve seen in *ages*. And not ’cause of the gore.

Just…. disturbing. Don’t see it alone. And for the love of god, don’t go home alone after you’ve seen it. None of us could. Actually, everyone ended up crashing at our place ’cause no one wanted to leave the group. We were that freaked.

Speaking of movies

I’m just dying for RotK to come out, and it’s worse knowing I’m not going to have time to actually go *see* it until after new year’s. Especially with the new trailer that’s been showing up on TV of late. I swear, I *squeak* every time it comes on. Addicted? Why yes I am.

So I got to see Underworld

And it was good. It was pretty. The plot did not suck. And yes, it was better than any of the attempts at game inspired fiction White Wolf and Co. have come up with to date. Why? They *didn’t* mention any gaming terms. No clans, no disciplines, no nagging feeling that I’m really just reading one of the stories sandwiched into the front of oh, say, the player’s guide to the Camarilla.

Seriously - this is the same reason why I couldn’t stand the clan novels, why K:tE didn’t thrill me in spite of the fact that I really *wanted* to be thrilled, why I have in fact avoided every piece of WoD fiction out there. Because when it comes to the game supplements and the meta plot that runs though them, these boys rock. They take chances, they kill the good guys, they make the survivors suffer, and they load it all up with some *spectacular* artwork. But when they try to ditch the training wheels and tell a straight-up story, they load it down with so many “World of Darkness” words that you can’t get past that fourth flippin’ wall.

Yeah, that about sums it up.

The folks at Penny Arcade have a good take on the Sony Vs. Whitewolf thing.

Well, I guess I wasn’t the only one that thought Underworld was so very White Wolf

Apparently, White Wolf agrees with me. And they *weren’t* informed in advance. Naughty hollywood. Naughty *naughty* Sony Pictures.

Where I’m worried, is the part where I really want to see this movie. It’s looking so damm good, and it’s coming out the weekend of my flipping birthday.

So, guys? Kiss and make up. Sony, pay White Wolf their royalty check, and release this sucker on time. Please?
