90% of you who are reading this blog already know Lars, so the part where he’s (among other things) a kick ass photographer is no surprise. But did you know he’s got work up on Picasa and Flickr? (And he’s twittering!)
As a side note, when I say I’m a crap photographer, it’s ’cause I know damn well what *good* photography looks like - due in no small part to growing up around really talented people. Of which the the Lunde is one. :)
Synecdochic sums up the open source boobie thing much better than I could.
Most folks who know me in RL know my mom’s a sculptor/illustrator. I sometimes mention that most of the rest that family are professional artists of some stripe. Today I thought I’d spotlight my aunt Jenny (photo-realistic acrylics).
Blood on Satin’s got a game set up at the old church in Nutley…. feel like coming out for an evening? It’s new World of Darkness - we’ve got mages, vampires, and werewolves as PC’s so far. (with talk of Changeling in the near future.)

Part of me has always wanted to just chuck everything and be an artist full time, but I’ve never had the courage. So here’s a shout out to someone who does. :)
My brother Matt has a lot of hobbies… one of them happens to be rock climbing. (Which looks *so* much cooler than me just sitting here at my computer.)
Apparently, too well. Today we experienced the joys of having one’s car stolen. No one was *in* said car at the time, nothing irreplaceable was in the car, and the cops found it just a few hours later. Minus, I’m told, many of the parts that make it particularly car-like. (Seats, battery, fender, bumper….)
So I now have a nice blue claim ticket that I get to take to city hall (ok, a building right next to city hall) in 3-5 working days, and they will return to me a vaguely car-shaped pile of metal. And I should be contacted by my insurance claims adjuster tomorrow.
On the upside, I can relax and not worry about driving to work for the near future. Bill and Dom get to play rock/paper/scissors for that tomorrow. Yes, I’m being glass half full girl…. ’cause why not? I work in the toilet section of Newark. Bring you car around there long enough, and your number will come up. So today was my day. Life’s like that sometimes. And it’s a little refreshing to having a spot of bad luck that just randomly happened, and wasn’t in any way due to me bing a ditz.
So this year Bill’s christmas present to me involved… a plane ticket to NC to see my mom and sister. I hope to god he doesn’t try to top this next year, ’cause I have no idea how anyone *could* top that. Four days wandering around Asheville, Forest City, and the area in between, and just having a lovely time of it.
I do miss the days when my whole family lived within an hour and a half of me, but if nothing else, the trip forced me to *not* work for a few days. Seems I have a problem with the not working thing. Yesterdays project involved scrubbing out the bathroom. Today I dusted and re-organized my bookshelves. Both projects have been staring me in the face for weeks, but the daily grind of wake up, go to work, come home, work on pieces for the march show, go to bed…. repeat on waking - I never find the time to do those “little things”. The last few days have given me the breathing space to not just “not work” but the get some of that “other work” done. I’m loving it.
