When fans are too devoted

Was checking out a fan site for the upcoming Queen Of The Dammed movie and it got me thinking.

Fans of a book/series tend to go into a movie/remake of their scacred text with some very set notions of how everything should be. The actors hair. Accents. Visual interpertations. What scenes are kept/deleted. How the film is marketed. Who it is marketed to. I gotta say folks, if you want to be that anal about the finished product, go make your *own* movie. Because when you go into that theatere you will be looking at *someone elses’s* artistic interperation of your favorite book/characters/world. You may agree with it. You may hate it. But please, for the love of pete, sstop whinging about it.

Movies that people need to calm down about and accept that this was someone else’s take on holy cannon: Harry Potter, Phantom Menace, LOTR, Interview w/The Vampire, Queen of the Dammed, and X-Men. (Just the one’s off the top of my head)
