Oh happy day - it did not suck. In fact, it rocked most mightily. I walked out feeling like I had in fact seen a whole movie. (As opposed to the feeling I got when walking out of the first one, which amounted to wondering where the *rest* of the movie went.) Did not feel cheated when walking out of this one, and I cannot wait for the next one.

The nifty:

• Spotting all the cameos (Hank, Remy, Siryn, Colossus, Kitty… I’m sure I missed some.)
• Logan/Jean shippage. Victoria P might write some kick ass L/R fic, but I’ll always be a L/J girl.
• Mystique got more screen time.
• Great effects.
• Stryker made a chilling bad guy. And when they wheeled out his son? My *god* I could feel my blood freeze. And although I might cry at the drop of a hat at movies, it takes something really special to scare or sicken me. This did both. Hoo yah.
• Magneto and Mystique laughing at Rogue like a couple of snotty high school kids. I so wish Bobby had just let her give some of her own back.
• St. John’s dorky helmet comment. Yeah, it is pretty dorky. But, it did do the job.
• Nightcrawler. Just…. everything about him.
• Nightcrawler talking to Mystique. Oh, if he only knew…

The not so nifty:

• That awful 1970’s shirt Logan was wearing at the end. Ick.
• Over doing the pheonix foreshadowing. I had it figured the first time Jean’s eyes went all fire glowy. (Why yes, I *am* a big geek)
• They put Yuriko’s character through a blender. A big one. On the other hand, I never had that big an attachment to her, so I figure it’s no harm, no foul.
