Well, that’s cute

I wish I was a big enough HP fan to care more about this.

Of course, there are authors who, when they put out ancillary works; I just go gaga and snatch them right up. JKR isn’t one of them though.

But this was ok?

I might have been book obsessed as a kid, but I completely missed the whole thing with Flowers in the Attic, back in the day. (I also missed out on The Great Gatsby, but that’s another thing altogether.) Having leafed though the first few chapters (and then gone on to wikipedia to avoid slogging though the whole thing), I can only say thank god for small favors. *This* was ok for 15 year olds, but I was the weird one ’cause I was reading bodice rippers? (and getting them confiscated regularly)

Oh, wait - my bodice rippers had half nekkid women on the front cover. The gothic incesty craziness had downright prim cover art, and so passed the adult sniff test. Gotta love it.

A milestone…

My first batch of Stafford loans has been paid off! (And it took slightly less than a decade.)

Of course, there’s the other batch that I’m still paying down, but I’ll take my happy where I can get it.

I’m glad my vacation’s coming up…

Dear customer -
The number of different products we carry is somewhere in the more-than-several thousands. I’m glad that you want a quote for a “custom printed box” but you’re going to have to be just a little more specific if you want us to be able to run up a printing quote.

not so much love,
me.

PS - ::begin extra snark:: Of course, I am working on that mail order parapsychology/Advanced ESP course, and if you want to wait until that certificate comes through (should be any day now, really), I’ll be able to help you without requiring you to lift a finger or strain your brain at all. ::end extra snark::

Hey Bonnie!

Ever wonder what an $11,000 coffee maker looks like?

And you think you’ve got it bad…

So fandom’s got it’s knickers in a twist ’cause the mainstream media’s noticing it.

Y’all do realize, it could be worse, right?

RTM… please

I think I’d make a lousy reference librarian - intellectual laziness is one of my big peeves. If someone’s asking me a question that they could easily figure out on their own, I have this desire to beat them over the head. So, figuring that, it probably wouldn’t take too long to for me to go from a raised eyebrow to lobbing out of date* volumes of the readers guide to periodical literature at folks, which I would keep around just for that use.

And now I’m thinking about my ultimate fantasy library…

*I dunno if they even issue the hardbound volumes anymore, what with everything being electronic these days.
